An incident of road rage escalated Monday night when the driver of a BMW rammed his car several times into a pickup truck. Several hours later, police made an arrest in connection with the event.

The brazen display of road rage attracted law enforcement’s attention from a tweet. A bystander captured the assault with his cell phone and posted it to Twitter Tuesday night.

Subsequent to his posting, LAPD responded asking for additional information. Later, however, they connected the video to an arrest made the previous day, only hours after the incident occurred.

Authorities identified the man driving the white BMW as 27-year-old David Zulalyan, a resident of Van Nuys. Not far from his neighborhood, the altercation took place in the North Hollywood intersection of Laurel Canyon and Victory Blvd.

Road Rage Shocks Bystanders

Zulalyan rammed multiple times into a pick-up truck in the middle of the intersection. The front of his vehicle connected with the truck near the driver’s door. As the truck driver attempted to escape, Zulalyan’s road rage compelled him to push the full power of his vehicle into the rear of the truck. The luxury sedan’s strength managed to push the truck’s back tires, screeching and churning smoke into the air.

When the truck driver managed to slip away, escaping eastbound on Victory, the BMW gave chase. Again, the powerful sedan struck the truck. This time, Zulalyan placed pedestrians in danger. Having revved up in his pursuit, he struck the truck with greater power, nearly pushing it into a small group of people collected at a bus stop. In the video, they’re seen fleeing.

None appear to sustain any injuries.

During their investigation, police heard from witnesses that reportedly observed the preceding events. They explained that the truck connected with the sedan immediately prior to Zulalyan’s erratic behavior. As the truck driver pulled away without exiting to address his mistake, Zulalyan began his assault.

Because of his outsized response, Zulalyan now faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon – the weapon in this case being his luxury sedan.

He posted a $30,000 bond Tuesday and appears in court on March 24. We here are AMPM Valet Parking hope he faces the full brunt of the law!
