GOP Lawmaker Thomas Massie is facing backlash for a Christmas card photo. This photo he posted to social media shows him and every member of his family holding large guns in front of the holiday tree.

GOP Lawmaker Asks Santa for a Special Gift!

“Merry Christmas!,” Massie, Republican-Kentucky., said in the tweet on Twitter with the photo he posted this past Friday. “ps. Santa, please bring ammo.”

Just found days after a high school shooting in Oxford Township, Michigan, the photo was posted just four days. It did leave four students dead. Then are at eight which were wounded. Moreover, prosecutors said the parents of the accused shooter, Ethan Crumbley, did purchase the gun which is used in the shooting just days before it did happen.

Defending the Pro-Guns Congressman

There is some criticism and other defending the pro-gun rights Kentucky congressman. They are politicians and activists to respond to the photo.

Also, fellow Republican, Representative Adam Kinzinger, Republican-Illinois, did respond to the tweet criticizing the photo.

The Issue is Not Right to Bear Arms but Instead a Gun Fetish

“I’m pro second amendment, however, this is not supporting right to keep and bear arms, this is a gun fetish,” Kinzinger said.

There are some comments which criticize him, Massie said. Also, to others who have asked for information which makes the models of the guns in the photo.

After his daughter, Jamie was killed during the 2018 Parkland High School shooting, Fred Guttenberg has hit back at the tweet. As a result of this, Guttenberg became a gun control activist.

“Here are mine since we are sharing family photos,” Guttenberg did tweet this past Friday. “One is the last photo that I did take of Jamie. The other is where she is really buried because of the Parkland school shooting. Also, the Michigan school shooter and his family did use to take photos like yours as well.”
