Cadillac has sat on the sidelines for decades. Now, the carmaker is getting to take a big step to get into the high-performance SUV segment with its 2023 Escalade-V.

The luxury brand said the “V-Series designation is reserving for vehicles that encompass the peak of Cadillac performance. There will be full details releasing this spring. This includes a bold, distinguished design plus innovative technology.

Also, this model does follow in the footsteps of Escalade Sport and Sports Platinum. This is by adopting a mesh grille and blacked-out accents. Moreover, the Escalade-V does go even further as it adopts a sportier front bumper. That is with a prominent air intake.

Moreover, it is flanking by triangular intakes which are reminiscent of those founding on the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings.

However, continuing further back, there is a V-Series badging on the doors. Plus the lightweight wheels that are backing up by a high-performance braking system with red calipers. However, the model has also been equipping with a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system. Plus a modified rear bumper with a discreet diffuser.

In fact, the cabin does remain more mysterious than the Cadillac. It is only releasing one picture showing a leather-wrapped steering wheel with V-Series badging. However, we can expect to see some special touches. Plus a familiar curved OLED display. It does consist of a 7.2-inch driver information center. Plus a 14.2-inch digital instrumental cluster. In addition to a 16.9-inch infotainment system.

The model is expecting to use the same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 as the CT5-V Blackwing. Yet the Cadillac is keeping the specifications under wraps. In fact, it does produce 668 hp (498 kW / 677 PS) and 659 lb-ft (893 Nm) of torque in the sedan. Thus it does assume that number carries over to the SUV. Moreover, it would be a 248 hp (185 kW / 251 PS) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) improvement over the Escalade’s naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8.
