If you drive down the right street in Silverlake, you can find a row of illegally parked Ferraris. The next street over has Porsches, and the next street over is nothing but Maseratis. No, this isn’t a million-dollar neighborhood or a pop-up auto show. This is the result of a high-end repair shop not having anywhere to park their vehicles. HI Tech Automotive has a problem with storage and their solution is to street park their clients’ six figure vehicles.

Neighbors claim the Illegally Parked Ferraris Aren’t ticketed

Neighbors in the surrounding neighborhood have complained for months that Hi Tech Automotive monopolized their precious street parking. The owner has stated that they understand their vehicles are illegally parked, but they have no other solution. They’re looking into a storage facility, but in the meantime, the street is their only option.

Residents have called city officials with little to no feedback. Some residents have taken the extra steps to create a case, and their findings are astonishing. According to neighbors, not only does the city do nothing to help, parking enforcement does not even ticket them. When the local residents get tickets on street sweeping day, the Ferraris are ticket-free. It’s created animosity against luxury vehicles.

Are City Officials even going to do anything?

City officials claim they ticket the luxury vehicles just like any other vehicle, and the owner of the shop has received numerous citations. This problem isn’t new for Angelenos, and this shop isn’t the only culprit for hogging street parking. City Attorney Mike Feuer has promised to crackdown on this issue in the coming months. Does that mean Angelenos can expect more residential permit parking? Or maybe, even more street parking limitations that can even affect neighbors. Whatever the solution may be, parking will always be an issue in Los Angeles. That is why more businesses choose to work with a valet company, like AMPM Valet Parking, to help their customers and businesses avoid problems like these.
