The Audi R8 is no ordinary vehicle. It is a revolutionary speedster that has a very real roar to it. An exhaust system that overlays the mechanical onomatopoeia of the engine. It’s only obvious how it overtake any other V-10 engine. The Audi R8 especially relies on that engine. So it will be surely and sorely missed.

Audi has the entry-level rear-Wheel Drive of the R8 replaced by a performance derivative. The drive can be easily ordered with the roof or with a fabric of sorts.

It comes equipped with a RWD Performance drive that may actually be powered by electric drivetrains this time around.

With the loss of the center differential and the front driveshafts, about 110 pounds are lost. Audi has their engineers saying that the Audi R8 Performance outdoes the Quattro. In which case the intervention tends to be unobtrusive. For Comfort mode, there can be a guardrail which prevents power oversteer. The aggressive modes raise an intervention threshold which would allow for more rear-end slip.

However, it is already quite apparent that the Performance setting coming with the Sport Exhaust package is much better. The chassis itself is more finessed in it’s own right. The speeds outdo anything that we previously could’ve thought could be down with the Michelin Sport 4S Tires.

Steering is still the hardest part of handling the Audi R8. Not the best front-axle handling to be fair. The V-10 is able to stand out as the Audi R8’s best quality. It has no low-down torque in comparison to the turbocharged rivals.
