On Friday, police received calls about a possible domestic dispute. They rushed to the residence, but found only the aftermath of a brutal altercation. Three men lay dead on the floor, each a victim of a shotgun blast.

The incident began the night of the 17th. Neighbors of a Studio City residence called authorities over concerns of noises coming from within. They reported hearing a man screaming. Subsequently, they heard shots fired.

Police officers dispatched to the scene arrived late in the evening. At around 11:05 pm, they pulled up to the home located on the 1100 block of Aqua Vista Street.

By the time they made their way into the home, the violence already crescendoed and left an eerie silence in its wake. Within, the 3 men laid bleeding from shotgun wounds. Upon investigation, it appeared one of the dead men killed the other two.

Then, he turned the shotgun on himself, ending his own life.

Shotgun Murder-Suicide Victims Identified

The shooter was identified as 47-year-old Phana Subpramoon. Authorities identified his two victims as 67-year-old Joseph Marcotte and 69-year-old Jaturong Siriprasirt. While Subpramoon has some relation to Siriprasirt, little else is known at this time, including the nature of their relation.

Furthermore, police remain uncertain about the argument that launched Subpramoon into his shooting spree. However, based on the placement of the bodies and their wounds, they determined Subpramoon fired multiple times on his two victims in their bedroom. Afterwards, he returned to the living room. It was there that he ended the violence with his own suicide.

The police continue to investigate the brutal shotgun slaying and the motive that pushed the shooter over the edge. Anyone with potentially important and pertinent details is asked to relay them to the investigating authorities. They can be reached at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), the anonymous LA County Crimestoppers tip line. Additionally, you can reach Detective Steve Castro directly at 818-374-1925.
