After sixty years, the Toyota Land Cruiser is no longer going to be in the USA. Starting with the 2021 model year, the Land Cruiser is looking to sell across the waters in global markets. A brand-new 300-series model is promising to be lightweight, modern and filled with new engine options. One of which is to power up a Tundra pickup. Beyond that, a GR Sport is going to be in the hands of the opposite folks. Yet, we will always have the Lexus LX, the Land Cruiser is saying “bon voyage” to American soil.

Let’s See What’s So Special About The Toyota

The last Land Cruiser was in 2007, a version aptly titled the 200 series. So this one, a continuation of the 300 series, is built on a different GA-F platform. The price that it’ll hit will start at about a Japanese equivalent of $46,679 in Japan. Out of all the models (GX, AX, VX, and ZX included), the GR Sport is arguably the best all-around. This is actually the same model that Toyota is using for 2023’s Dakar Rally. Additionally, the model has a fantastic word mark over the grille, 18-inch wheels, and an Electronic-Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System unlike any other. This allows for anti-roll bars to pivot, thanks to hydraulics. The vehicle also comes equipped with a twin-turbo V-6 engine. This V-8 has a 381-horsepower with 5.7-liter capabilities. This therefore creates 409 horsepower while also pumping out 479 pound-feet of torque. Not to mention, the Tundra pickup truck gives off a hybrid drivetrain prowess, unlike the competitors.

Additionally, this iteration of the Toyota Land Cruiser is about 441 pounds way lighter than the original 200 series. With that, comes a different center of gravity you may not have anticipated beforehand that could be pushed a little more back. In the 300 series, there is a stretch of length at about 194.9 inches and other corresponding sizes.
